Smoker Relied on "Illusion" of Filtered Cigarettes' Safety, Attorney Argues in Tobacco Trial


Philip Gerson tells jurors that Phyllis Frazier smoked filtered cigarettes for decades because she believed the tobacco industry's false claims that they were safer. Frazier, who developed COPD that required a lung transplant, died in 2012. Her daughter, Tina Russo, represented by Gerson, is suing Philip Morris and R.J. Reynolds.
