Tobacco Companies “Hooked” Smoker with Nicotine, Deception: Attorney in Cancer Trial


Scott Schlesinger argues Glodine McCoy was so addicted to nicotine that she could not quit smoking, despite conflicting information about smoking’s health hazards, until after she suffered a heart attack. McCoy’s husband, John, represented by Schlesinger, is suing tobacco makers R.J. Reynolds and Philip Morris, claiming their concealment of smoking’s dangers led to the lung cancer, artery disease and other health conditions his wife was diagnosed with before her death.
