Alan Kaiser tells jurors that Thomas Hardin would not have begun to smoke cigarettes as a teenager if he had known of the dangers of smoking. Hardin, who smoked for 50 years, died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder in 2012. His wife, Joyce Hardin, represented by Kaiser, is suing Reynolds, claiming its deception caused Hardin’s nicotine addiction and fatal COPD.
